The Path for the Humbled Seeker

ree

The majority of people would sip from the Fountain of Youth or pry open a treasure chest of endless riches, if it were handed to them on a silver platter. Yet tell the masses they must leave their families, their village, and their mobile phone, and almost all will turn away.

From what remains—nomads, pilgrims, gypsies, adventurers—only the Seeker keeps walking when the road turns darker than the imagination could have anticipated. The journey can only be taken at night. The moon’s borrowed light reveals only shifting shadows of creatures and monsters that seem to stalk you on the path. Unfortunately, there is no light that brightens the way. Those who have traveled this path before do not even leave footprints, as though they were just ghosts haunting our faith, stimulating doubts that we must have made a mistake. Then the wind stirs, and the trees sing thier stories, not as sound to the ears but as vibrations in the heart that make the hair on their arms stand up. They realize they must keep going.

Many people will die in the safety of their villages, at the funeral their loving family will share their condolences and social-media posts so the masses can like and then move on with the next scroll. However, the seeker's story will never be told on an Instagram story. When they die they thier tale will live like the brightest star in the sky with only the other twinkles in the distance keeping them company. Their family won’t even see them shine, because they choose to go to bed at night. However, the Seekers on the same path that travel by night will see themselves in their light from up above. It calls their attention no matter the distance. That’s when the Seekers of the past and the present have a cosmic connect sharing the same thought: “How am I so small in a world so big, yet my world feels so big in the confines of my mind.”

If this story connects in your spirit, then the workbook I created can become a conditioning manual before beginning this long journey. This trek is not for the faint of heart—even the strong-willed will feel the urge to quit without the ability to get refreshed by the juiciest fruits seen on the journey when their ego gets thirsty.

Yet those who return to the pages of this workbook with steady, sincere effort will discover a path that wakes the spirit, like an inquisitive child whose joy shines brighter than any treasure. That, for me, is the shape of enlightenment toward liberation.

Bring the reasons you began, and cling to the reasons you cannot turn back. Every fear you curse, every fault you wish away, is now part of the mission: befriend them, honour them, and cradle each trial as tenderly as a lover’s embrace.
